Adult Leadership   Scout Leaders

No troop would grow and advance without volunteer adult leadership.  From scoutmaster to committee member, adult leadership in Troop 399 plays an active and inspiring role to scouts of all age in the unit.  All parents are encouraged to participate in the troop's adult leadership.  Experience has shown that scouts whose parents that are active with the troop tend to go further in the program.  This is serves as no coincidence for without the willingness and effort of adult leadership, scouts would lack the necessary inspiration, drive and determination to reach the rank of Eagle.

The most unique feature of Boy Scouting is that is inclined towards a "boys lead boys" system of planning and executing.  Most decisions on the program planning level are made by Troop 399's Patrol Leaders Council (PLC), an assembly of the troop's appointed scout leaders.  Scouts who have shown interest in perfecting their leadership qualities and have exhibited a drive to make a difference in the managing of their troop are given highly-respectable positions in the troop.  After receiving personal preferences from the scouts themselves, the scoutmasters come together at the end of each year and create their roster of boy leadership positions.
