When will Troop 399 be at Yawgoog Summer Camp?

Troop 399 will leave from Orient Point Ferry at 2:00 pm on Sunday July 13th.  The scouts will return from the ferry around 5:00 pm on the following Sunday, the 20th.

What needs to be sent up to Yawgoog for the scout, health speaking?

All scouts at Yawgoog are required to have a Class Three Medical Form filled out some time in the past 36 months.

What is the cost for one scout to spend a week at summer camp?

The current cost is $310.00.  Scouts must see Mr. Ziegler to see how much money they have worked off from their troop and community service hours.

What is Medicine Bow?

Medicine Bow is one of three camps that Yawgoog is broken down into.  Due to Yawgoog's enormous weekly population, each camp holds about 15 troops which do their own program like water games, sports activities, meals, etc.  Medicine Bow starts from the Health Lodge and ends at the Sandy Beach parking lot.

What are some details on sleeping arrangements?

A Yawgoog tent consists of four two-man bunks for scouts to sleep in.  We are currently looking at seven scouts in a tent for three different tents.

What is the basic schedule for a Yawgoog day?

Scouts will wake up at 7:00 am.  After taking care of personal equipment for about ten minutes, scouts must help clean and prepare the site for camp inspections.  There will be a flag ceremony for Medicine Bow before breakfast starting at approximately 7:50 am.  After Breakfast, scouts are free to explore the camp, go to program centers, and earn merit badges starting at 9 am.  Lunch is served at 12:30 pm.  Scouts will have some down-time between lunch and when the next time slot opens starts at 2 pm.  Scouts may continue with their day's activities until supper at 5:45 pm.  After supper, scouts will have the 7pm - 8pm time slot to finish their day's activities before all centers close at 8 pm.  Scouts finish the day in the campsite until 9:30 pm, when Taps sounds.

What is the theme of the week?

The theme of the week is outer space.  All the camp activities will be geared around an outer space theme.

What's the 411 on showering?

Scouts in Troop 399 are required to shower daily.  There is an indoor shower building located near our campsite.
